Phi Sigma Sigma was founded by 10 extraordinary women on November 26, 1913 at Hunter College in New York City. The Delta Nu Chapter was founded locally on April 13, 1985. Now, we are the largest sorority on Iona’s campus, and we couldn’t be any prouder of our growth! Our ideals are sisterhood, service, scholarship and diversity. The sisters follow these ideals both in the Iona community and nationwide.

It is because of our dedication to the sorority that Phi Sigma Sigma is able to grow locally, as well as nationally.  Being the only national sorority on Iona’s campus gives us the benefit of having a larger community and every sister being apart of something bigger than them and bigger than Iona College. In 2015, Phi Sigma Sigma won The Council of Greek Governance 2016 – Excellence in Leadership Award and The Phi Sigma Sigma – Outstanding Recruitment Award.

Currently our sorority has 71 active members. Our philanthropy is The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation which supports efforts to improve school and college readiness across these layers of influence: the ready family, the ready school, and the ready community.
